How to Meditate

I think the reason meditation seems so hard, especially to someone first trying it, is that we think that to be doing it correctly we must not have our thoughts wander. But we are human. Our thoughts are going to wander. And maybe that's the whole point! Don't beat yourself up and don't give up. Just notice and acknowledge that you were thinking about something specific and gently return to your mantra, breathing, etc. Gentleness, persistence, focus, patience - all good things to practice!
