Let yourself off the hook. Stop repeating mistakes over and over again in your mind. Put the bat down and stop hitting yourself over the head! Open your heart and let yourself feel forgiveness and thank God for the gift of forgiveness.

Guilt, shame, if-onlys, should-haves, etc. plus the everyday stressors of life can be overwhelming. Prioritize and try to deal with one thing at a time, not everything at once. We have to learn how to feel and how to accept and forgive ourselves. It’s okay to feel guilty (this means you have a conscience) but not to hold on to shame (not liking who you are).
